The pattern for this month is part of a class that I'll be teaching in the Palmetto's Tatting Day.  The objective of this motif is to create a Celtic style motif/ bookmark/edging.

Materials:

2 Shuttles CTM

 

Instructions:

 

Base: 2 Shuttles

SR:  5 - 5 / 10.  CL.

 

Make 13 SRs in total.

 

SR:  5 /1 5.  CL.  Mock Picot.

SR:  5 / 15.  CL.

 

Match the next side with:

SR:  5 + 5 / 10.  CL.

I have notice that some people are having problems with the patter of the base.  Here is a diagram that shows how I made it.  I hope it helps to clarify the doubts.  If you still have problems with the pattern let me know and I'll try to help.

Spokes: (Make 2) 2 Shuttles

R:  10 - 10.  CL.  SS.

CH:  10.  SS.

 

Repeat until 14 rings and 13 chains are made.

Assembly:

Interweave the spokes and insert the rings in the SRs of the base.

 

For this pattern youll need a 3rd round, which is known as the Joining Round.  The purpose of this is to join the Base and/or the Spokes together so your bookmark or motif doesn't come apart.
